I had the wonderful opportunity to go see the new HBO series BALLERS at the Owner's Box sports bar inside the Omni Hotel before it was released to the public. HBO bought out the entire place for a private screening of the first two episodes. I was surprised the place wasn't filled with Dallas Cowboys and more people. It seemed more like an exclusive group was invited to the premiere.
I personally enjoyed the great food, including a mac-n-cheese buffet bar, sandwiches, burgers and hummus with celery and carrots. They also offered an open bar for the first hour of the reception before the screening. I had the chance to meet an executive from HBO who flew in to greet guest. Now if you have HBO, I suggest you check out the show. It's a comedy series about current and former players. Much like the former show The Game from BET. On Ballers, former superstar Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) has re-invented himself as a financial adviser in Miami, trying to stay financially afloat taking on younger players to manage and mentor. It definitely takes us inside the world of real life players, their financial, emotional and criminal troubles. From cheating on their wives to going broke, and it tackles the players working hard to stay on top. I will watch to see how this story unfolds. The rest of the cast includes Rob Corrdry, Omar Benson Miller, John David Washington, Donovan W. Carter, Troy Garity, Jazmyn Simon, London Brown, and Arielle Kebbel. The show airs on Sundays at 10PM EST
