Uchi Dallas opened it's doors last night and we were the first inside the Uptown location to get a bite~ We attended the grand opening of the popular Japanese restaurant and you can read my review below: Uchi Dallas is a Japanese restaurant located at 2817 Maple Ave in Dallas, Texas. When we arrived we noticed complimentary valet, and a coat check. You just need to get your valet ticket stamped for free parking. The greeters were amazingly friendly and took our coats to coat check. The nice hostess then escorted us to the patio while we waited for the rest of our party. They will not sit a group without everyone there. Next, we then sat down at a really unique table, surrounded by a cool bar, hanging cool lights and atmosphere. Next, we were greeted by our waiter and served a free sample sushi roll, the best of the night! I was called Medai, which is made of Japanese Sea Bream. I also loved the watermelon and sushi dish along with the Nabe made with Baby yellowtail, soy broth, duck, mushroom and chili! But definitely order the broccoli as a appetizer. It was soooo good with flavor and fried and cooked at the table. Great food, atmosphere and service. The chef and owner came to our table and introduced us to a few free dishes and let us taste the chef favorites. One note, if you are starving the portions are not overly filling. It's sushi so, most people understand it's not going to fill you up like Cheesecake factory portions lol.
Price ranges from $17 bucks a hot dish, and $5 to $12 and up for the sushi dishes. Be prepared to spend some money here if you really want to eat a good amount of food. The portions are pretty small. I would recommend getting two hot dishes and a sushi roll to fill a couple. Uchi Dallas Phone:(214) 855-5454 hours · 5:00 – 10:00 pm Menu: uchirestaurants.com
