Amanda was named Grand Marshall in this year’s 28th Annual Elite News MLK Parade and Festival.
We began the day with a wonderful breakfast! After receiving awards for
participation in the parade, we were then shuttled to the start of the parade.
There were more than 30 corvette's from the Unique Corvette club waiting to pick
us up and drive us along the parade route.
But the best part was the spectators, I got a chance to see and wave at so many wonderful people!!!
For the past 27 years, the Elite News MLK parade has served as “A Day On, Not a Day Off” for over 150,000-200,000 spectators annually as well as a Festival pavilion hosting an additional 40,000 to 50,000 spectators and vendors. The Parade averages 25 floats, 40 High school bands, 275 entrée’s, and 4,200 participants with TV News and radio coverage form all over the North Texas region.
