I was so excited when my mentor Cheryl Smith invited me to the UNCF masquerade ball and gala at the Dallas Omni Hotel. Read more and check out photos below!
I mean Kenny Latimore performed, my mentor received and award, Senator Royce West was there and I got a chance to hand with my girl, and radio personality Dede McGuire and her husband. We definitely had a good time laughing and enjoying the festivities.
The highlight of the night was watching my mentor Cheryl Smith receive an honor for her work in the organization, and as a mentor for Dallas journalists.Senator Royce West was among many Dallas City leaders and movers and shakers in attendance.
500 people came out to support the United Negro College Fund, which receive more than 50,000 in pledges.
The monies go toward scholarships for students to attend college's and universities.
