Amanda is an award winning news anchor and reporter. She has spent more than the last two decades working as a news anchor, reporter, managing editor for television stations in various cities including Dallas, Atlanta and network news.
She currently works for WHYY at PBS channel 12 and 90.9 FM radio an NPR affiliate in Philadelphia. Her YouTube channel "The Amanda Fitzpatrick Show" has garnered more than 1.4 million views and continues to grow with 1.4k loyal subscribers. She has a combined number of 40k followers and subscribers across her social media platforms. Amanda also served as the Public Information and Communicatons Manager for the Durham Police Department. While there she handled media and public relations strategy for a 600-person police department.

Amanda was awarded four Salute to Excellence in reporting Awards by the National Association of Black Journalists. She has more than a decade of combined experiences in television news and has worked in top television markets including Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte and has reported live for Network news including covering the Inauguration of President Barack Obama from Washington, DC.
She spent five years as the first Black Evening Managing Editor/Main News Anchor at WWAY-TV in Wilmington, NC.
While at WWAY News in Wilmington, North Carolina, Amanda and her team received the AP Award for Best Evening Newscast (NC) and RTDNAC award for Best Special Report for their Commercial Free Election night coverage.
Before joining WWAY she worked at WCCB-TV in Charlotte where she was the anchor for the number one week-end newscast and reported on the Carolina Panthers road to the Super Bowl, epic ice storm and interviewed Bill and Hilary Clinton during Hilary's election stop in the city.

In The Community
Amanda is very active in the community and while in Wilmington created the Wilmington Black Professionals group, where she and her husband garnered more than 500 members. They were able to host monthly networking events and connect minority business owners and community members to create opportunities for both.
She also hosted and volunteered for more than 50+ charity and mentorship events during her time there. While in Dallas she received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hero award by the Cultivating Leaders Achieving Scholastic Success non-profit organization in Irving, Texas.
She was also named “2014 People to Watch” by Dallas Weekly newspaper and an Honorary Grand Marshall of the Elite News MLK parade in Dallas. In December 2013, she beat out thousands of nominees and was named by D Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas.”

My Family
Amanda married Yusef Abdur-Razzaaq in a beautiful ceremony in Riviera Maya, Mexico! Yusef is an Air Force Veteran who proudly served our Country and currently works for the Department of Justice. They met when she was blogging in Dallas, Texas at the red carpet event for his movie.
In 2019 Amanda and Yusef welcomed their beautiful daughter, Naomi Rose into the world. Naomi's journey and story has been shared on social media and ultimately led to them creating the non-profit Naomi's Gift. They use the organziation to teach parent's how to navigate the medical system and support families and medical staff who treat babies and children.
