Participating in career Day is always fun. This year school counselor Jacqueline Grant invited me to speak to a various number of classes at Henry W.Longfellow Career Exploration Academy in Dallas. And, boy did I had a great time!!! I know you often see me in party pics and celebrity functions, but I really do love the kids. Even though I don't have any of my own, I think that helps me appreciate other people's kids even more lol.
I had the chance to show them my traffic reports, reporter stories and also encourage them to dream big and follow their hearts when it comes to being whatever they want to be in life. Honestly, I always tell the kids to choose the right friends, focus on your homework and dream big. I had a few students ask to take pictures with me in each class and talk to me about being journalists. I just hope one child is impacted by my speeches and becomes the big star they dream of becoming one day. I also saw fellow media personality Lady Jake from K104 & Al Mac from the Kidd Kraddick show, among many others.
