The 2013 Lone Star Chapter of the
National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences EMMY Awards were awesome!!!!!! Okay, so I didn't take home the coveted trophy, but I had a great time kicking back with colleagues and spending time with my big brother Johnny!
My brother, a Criminal defense attorney and Pastor in Durham, NC took the time to fly into San Antonio and kick back with his lil’ sis!
Here's the deal San Antonio was beautiful. I spent the first day
shopping where I caught a nice work dress and almost spent tons of money on shoes. Next, my brother and I checked into the GRAND HYATT hotel where the service was exceptional.
That night we visited the famous Riverwalk, where we had dinner
inside the Landry's Seafood house. I recommend the Blue Crab and Lobster.
The best part was the band!! They sang all the old R&B hits and my brother even got up and danced to a Stevie Wonder track ha!
The day of the EMMYs I was in shock and so nervous. The event was amazing; they had penguins from SeaWorld on hand to take pictures with us. I also took photos with the AFL team and cheerleaders. I met the King of the San Antonio parade that was held on the Rivewalk earlier that day. I also had a chance to see a Mariachi Band, dancers and so much more.
It was a wonderful week-end and I really am so blessed to be nominated for such a prestigious award, even if I didn't win, because after all, there’s always next year~!
