Hundreds came out to show their support for a worthy cause. When Clarence Hill Jr. and DJ Gumbo asked myself and CBS Sports Anchor Guy Rawlings to co-host the Memorial Day Happy Hour Charity at aLOFT XYZ bar I couldn't pass it up!
The event was meant to have fun but also raise awareness about Veterans in need. They decided to bring together dozens of people to donate shoes for the Dallas Veterans Resource Center. Many purchased shoes and donated the to the cause. Others brought gently worn shoes, and/or cash donations.The event collected a hundred pairs of shoes, and will go to the men and women veterans and their families.
