Great time at the private interactive movie screening for the new movie, "The Gift". There were a lot of surprises during the screening, but the highlight of the movie was the Q&A with the star who played Gordo, Joel Edgerton, who also directed and wrote the movie. Read more about how they scared me and my review on this psychological thriller below:
I was so freaked out when I read one of the tweets from the character #MyFriend Gordo!!! Gordo, or Gordon was the cryptic character throughout the film.  At the time all I knew was there was a tweet saying he was my friend and he was watching me in the studio (referring to a picture I posted on Twitter from my days of  anchoring the news at CW33 last year).  I was also handed a red envelope with a gift from "Gordo" when I first arrived,  I later learned the significance while watching the movie.  The gift theme is continued throughout the film.  Now, the highlight of the movie was the Q&A with the star who played Gordo, Joel Edgerton, who also directed the movie.  It was an amazing opportunity to listen to the directors interpretation of the film.  He discussed what was going through his mind when writing the screenplay and directing.  Since the movie is not out yet, I don't want to give too much away so check back for my full review. Just know it is a great film, that has thrills and will make you feel for the characters.  To read more about the movie click below: In theaters August 7th

SYNOPSIS Can you really go through life having never wronged anyone? Even if you are unaware of how, or when, and even who you may have wronged….chances are there is someone out there who won’t ever forget it…or you.
Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) are a young married couple whose life is going just as planned until a chance encounter with an acquaintance from Simon’s high school sends their world into a harrowing tailspin. Simon doesn’t recognize Gordo (Joel Edgerton) at first, but after a seemingly coincidental series of encounters proves troubling, a horrifying secret from their past is uncovered after nearly 20 years. As Robyn learns the unsettling truth about what happened between Simon and Gordo, she starts to question: how well do we really know the people closest to us, and are past bygones ever really bygones?
From the producer of Whiplash and The Purge, Jason Blum, comes a chilling psychological thriller that marks the feature directorial debut of acclaimed actor and writer Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, Zero Dark Thirty, Warrior).
